Audrey Shoemaker

Shelter Director, Fulton County Animal Services

Audrey is a twenty year veteran of the Atlanta Rescue community. She joined LifeLine’s Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS) team in 2013 as the Volunteer and Foster Coordinator.  From there she progressed into a number of shelter roles including rescue coordinator, placement manager, client services director,. Now, she serves as the Shelter Director. Her focus, throughout all of these roles, has always been on developing and improving strategic lifesaving programs.

Audrey has dedicated her career to developing relationships with teams, the community, and partners to meet the individual needs of the animals in the shelter and the community.  As a result, she has built teams, programs and infrastructure to create pathways to positive outcomes for healthy and treatable animals.

Audrey pioneered a new Customer Service department that embraced a community centric model and case management approach to better serve the people and pets in Atlanta. A dedicated animal lover, Audrey says that the best part of her job is working with inquisitive, courageous and compassionate co-workers, rescue partners, volunteers, donors and pet owners. She believes that some of the best work our industry can do is to focus on both ends of the leash.

Audrey shares her southwest Atlanta home with her two dogs, who are FCAS alums, Trent and Linus.
