WINTER WEATHER IMPACTING SHELTER HOURS

Due to current weather and travel conditions in metro Atlanta, the LifeLine Community Animal Center shelter and clinic will now be closed on Wednesday, 1/22. Staff are still onsite caring for the animals. We intend to resume normal hours on Thursday, 1/23, but will keep our community updated.

LifeLine Animal Project Partners with Petco Love to Stop the Spread of Deadly Preventable Diseases

Free Vaccine Clinic To Be Held March 18 in College Park

ATLANTA, GA (March 16, 2023) – LifeLine Animal Project will provide free DAPPv vaccines for dogs and HCP vaccines for cats at our College Park Clinic (2533 Sullivan Road) on March 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. while supplies last. The no-cost vaccines are made possible through Petco Love’s national vaccination initiative which is providing one million free pet vaccines for family pets in need.

Parvovirus and distemper in dogs and panleukopenia in cats — the most prevalent deadly diseases affecting pets — are preventable with a simple vaccine. An estimated 30% of pet parents do not take their pet to a veterinarian annually for preventative care. To ensure the health and wellness of our beloved pets and to address this critical need, LifeLine and Petco Love have partnered to make pet vaccines free and accessible.

“LifeLine is pleased to offer our community these important pet vaccines, thanks to Petco Love,” said Rebecca Guinn, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of LifeLine Animal Project. “We want our community to utilize this free resource to help reduce the spread of disease and ensure the health and wellness of our community’s pets.”

“It is heartbreaking when any pet suffers or dies from a disease that could have been prevented. It is further exacerbated when unvaccinated pets come into busy shelter kennels, where these deadly diseases can spread quickly, resulting in multiple deaths, skyrocketing expenses, and hindering saving pets’ lives,” said Susanne Kogut, Petco Love President. “By creating greater awareness and making this crucial preventative care more accessible to pets not currently receiving these lifesaving vaccines, we can prevent the dangerous spread of disease.”

The vaccines are being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Rabies vaccinations can also be administered for an additional $15 per pet for one year or $25 per pet for three years.
