LifeLine Animal Project Announces FREE End-of-Summer “Clear the Shelters” Adoptions Event August 22–25

All Shelters, All Adoptions Included

ATLANTA, GA – (August  20, 2025) — LifeLine Animal Project, the nonprofit organization managing Fulton and DeKalb County animal shelters, is encouraging residents to give a shelter pet a loving home before summer ends by offering free adoptions August 22–25.

This fee-waived event is an added bonus to LifeLine’s annual Clear the Shelters campaign in partnership with NBCUniversal and Telemundo, which offers $25 adoptions throughout August.

During this special four-day promotion, all adoptions are free at all LifeLine locations:

  • Fulton County Animal Services – 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd NW

  • DeKalb County Animal Services – 3280 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd

  • LifeLine Community Animal Center – 3180 Presidential Drive

All adopted animals will be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered at no cost to adopters.

LifeLine shelters have seen a 72% increase in dog surrenders since this time last year. It’s a critical time to help save lives.

“Housing issues and financial concerns often lead to animal surrenders,” said LifeLine spokesperson Tiki Artist. “When you adopt from one of our shelters, you give an animal a second chance at life and help other pets in need by ensuring they have a place to land when their owners face difficult decisions.”

If visiting a county shelter feels overwhelming, consider stopping by LifeLine’s Community Animal Center (CAC) and help us meet our goal of 100 dog adoptions by August 31. Adopting from the CAC saves three lives:the pet you take home, the pet transferred from an overcrowded county shelter into the CAC, and the next pet in need of a space at a county shelter.
