snips02LifeLine Animal Project announces SNIP DeKalb (Spay Neuter Impact Program), which for a limited time will provide free spay/neuters to cats or medium-large breed dogs, including vaccinations, for DeKalb County pet owners in need of help!

While LifeLine Animal Project’s management has lowered the euthanasia rate at our DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS) shelter, with half of all litters unplanned, there is always more we can do to reduce intake. Hoping to stem the number of animals coming in, LifeLine has implemented SNIP DeKalb (Spay Neuter Impact Program), which will provide free spay/neuters for cats and medium-large breed dogs for DeKalb County pet owners who need our help. The pets will also receive free vaccines.

Spaying and neutering is critical in reducing number of homeless and unwanted pets entering the shelter during warmer months. By eliminating financial barriers and encouraging DeKalb County residents to get their pets fixed, we hope to see a drastic reduction in the number of dogs and cats entering our shelter.

SNIP DeKalb Free Spay & Neuter ProgramDeKalb residents who own cats or medium-large breed dogs, and who cannot afford to pay for low-cost spay/neuter services themselves should print and fill out the SNIP DeKalb application form and then mail it in, or drop it off at the shelter at 3280 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd Chamblee, GA 30341 (where applications are also available). When approved, applicants will receive a voucher for a free spay/neuter and instructions in the mail.
