April 2020

April stats web

We have continued to be amazed by our incredible community. In April, 500 animals were able to leave the shelter behind for a comfy foster home and 658 animals found their forever home, 335 of which were adopted directly from their foster home! Thanks to this continued support, we have been able to make space for animals in dire need, like these dogs we rescued from Douglasville. Since their rescue, many of them have already been adopted or have found their foster home, like Dalton, who is all smiles in his foster home. Your continued support helps Atlanta's animals stay out of the shelter during this crisis and in foster or forever home. Learn more about how you can help:

Help our smallest residents: Kittens are beginning to arrive in our shelters and they need your help. Support our most vulnerable residents by signing up to foster or donating supplies.

Donate: Donate and help support our foster programs, community outreach efforts, and lifesaving mission.

Stay up-to-date: Visit our COVID-19 blog for our latest needs, process and pick up protocols to make lifesaving possible during this time.

March Lifesaving Rates

As the nation prepared for the COVID-19 crisis and doors around our city began to close, we quickly changed our processes to follow recommendations for social distancing and continued to work hard to save lives. We asked for urgent help finding foster homes for the hundreds of dogs in our care, and our community answered our call. In just a few weeks, over 1,000 animals found homes and, for the first time since LifeLine began managing the Fulton and DeKalb County shelters, we were able to see nearly every kennel open. We are in awe of this incredible feat right now, but know that as animals continue to enter our shelters now and in the months to come, we will need your continued support. Learn how you can continue to help Atlanta's animals:

Donate: During this crucial time, funds are more critical than ever to help us keep operations flowing and to purchase needed supplies.

Send food for our community: Our Pets for Life team is working hard to still meet the needs of our city's most vulnerable community and are in need of pet food donations.

Stay up-to-date: Visit our COVID-19 blog for our latest needs, process and pick up protocols to make lifesaving possible during this time.
