Happy Endings

Mason by the poolAn Update on the Puppy who was Badly Burned

A very special little guy just turned one, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share an update, a letter from Mason and some new pictures!

Remember Mason, the abused four-month-old Yorkie puppy turnMason was adopted by, Nikki, the Ophthalmology Assistant who cared for him at Bluepearl GVS.

However, because of the ulcers in his eyes and scarring from chemicals he was burned with, the veterinarians still weren’t sure if he’d get his vision back.

Well, we’ve got some great news.  Thanks to his fighting spirit, your wonderful support, an amazing veterinary staff and Nikki’s round-the-clock care, Mason just celebrated his first birthday, and guess what?  He can see!

Our brave boy has pulled through and made a COMPLETE recovery, including growing new fur in places that were badly burned.

According to Nikki, Mason is a normal puppy who loves to chase squirrels in the yard, dig holes to bury his toys in, go on walks and go swimming (his mom makes him wear a life jacket).  “He is spoiled rotten and gets snuggles and kisses all the time,” adds Nikki.

Mason also has a new best friend, Luna a pit bull, who visits him frequently.  Luna and Mason chase each other around the house, steal toys from each other and love to snuggle together.

Nikki and her husband thank everyone for the outpouring of support they gave Mason and for helping to save this little champ.  He is a dear and important part of their family.

A letter from Mason

Hi Lifeline Animal Project - Mason here, I just turned a year old and thought I would say thank you again for rescuing me. My life is great!!! I don't know what spoiled rotten means but it must mean that I am a good boy because I get snuggles and kisses all the time! I love to chase squirrels and birds, but my favorite things to do is dig holes and sometimes hide my toys in them, I have lots and lots of toys but, I don't dig often because mommy gets grumpy and I end up getting a bath. My best friend's name is Luna and she visits me often. We chase each other, steal toys from each other and we love to snuggle.  I sent a picture of her too. I also love to go on walks and go swimming, but mommy and daddy make me wear a life jacket. So thanks again LifeLine for my great life!!
