350+ Animals Adopted Over the Holiday Weekend!
We at LifeLine Animal Project are beyond thrilled! After taking in over 2200 animals at our DeKalb and Fulton shelters since October 1, we asked the Atlanta community to adopt locally and help us find homes and save lives this holiday weekend. And as a Best Friends Animal Society Network Partner, we were able to offer free adoptions this Black Friday through Cyber Monday, courtesy of Zappos.com.
On Black Friday, employees of LifeLine at Fulton County Animal Services arrived at work to find a long line of people already forming outside the building, waiting eagerly to adopt a pet.
Employees from all departments were ecstatic at the local Atlanta response, and jumped in to help the adoptions team, assisting potential adopters in finding the right pet, bringing pets out to the play yards for meet and greets, reviewing applications, and more. Thanks to our wonderful staff, volunteers, sponsors and adopters, LifeLine at Fulton County Animal Services had a record breaking adoption day with 109 pets finding their forever homes!
The atmosphere at all the shelters was jubilant. At the end of the day, many employees were in tears, grateful that their favorite pets would now be happy and safe in their new homes. And the Fulton shelter manager was amazed that runs that had been over crowded were now empty for new arrivals.
LifeLine at DeKalb had a great weekend too. Over 85 pets were adopted during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend, bringing the number of animals adopted at all of LifeLine's locations to over 350!
We want to thank everyone, including our wonderful teams, supporters, Best Friends Animal Society and Zappos.com, for believing in us and supporting us. Because of you, we are one step closer to becoming a no-kill Atlanta. Thank you for the best Black Friday weekend EVER!
