During June, we celebrated Best Friend Day, we held two vaccination clinics, where hundreds of Atlanta's animals received low-cost vaccinations and vet care and hosted several off-site adoption events, including the Grant Park Pup Stroll, Midtown Vortex and the Petco in Edgewood!
Our county shelters in Fulton and DeKalb saw an increase in intake when compared to last year. Due to the high intake, we ran a Pick Your Price adoption promotion and waived fees on all animals who were already spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Fulton was able to acheive an 87% lifesaving rate and DeKalb was able to achieve a 84% lifesaving rate. And there is still so much more work to be done. We need your help to save every healthy and treatable animal in the Atlanta area. Here are four things you can do to support Atlanta's homeless animals:
- Temporarily foster an adult shelter dog: From fun-loving hiking buddies to low-key besties, we are sure to have a pet to fit your lifestyle.
- Donate a crate: Our shelters are in need of medium to large sized dog crates! You can drop off at a shelter location nearest you or donate from our Amazon Wishlist!
- Adopt a kitten (or two): Our shelters are bursting at the seams with adorable kittens who would love to fill your home with cuteness!
- Become a monthly donor: Monthly giving is the easiest way to support our livesaving mission to end the euthanasia of every healthy and treatable animal that comes through our shelter doors. When you become a Faithful Companion, you make it possible for us to care for Atlanta's homeless animals.
