Hurricane Irma is on its way to Florida and potentially parts of the southeast, including Atlanta. Many Florida evacuees have already made their way to Atlanta, but are finding that there are no pet-friendly hotels left. In an effort to prepare for Hurricane Irma and assist those who have evacuated with their pets, LifeLine's Fulton County Animal Services, along with the Red Cross, will be providing an off-site shelter in Atlanta for pets of evacuees. Additionally, we are currently evacuating all animals from our Fulton County Animal Services shelter, in preparation for Hurricane Irma. Here's how you can help:

  1. Sign up to Volunteer: We are in need of volunteers to help transport animals offsite and to man the offsite shelters. You can sign up to assist by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  2. Donate Supplies: Right now, our biggest needs are newspaper, bungee cords, towels, thick tape and wire crates. You can drop off at our shelter located at 860 Marietta Blvd NW in Atlanta. You can also donate items from our Amazon WishList here.
  3. Sign up to Foster: With the influx of people and pets in Atlanta, we are expecting a significantly large number of displaced pets and intake at our Fulton County Animal Services location. You can help by becoming a temporary foster parent to a shelter pet by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
