Often times, people assume that if a dog or cat has been with us for a long period of time, there must be something wrong with him/her. When, in actuality, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Any animal that can withstand the shelter environment for an extensive length of time has a great amount of resilience. And often times, their length of stay is a testament to their solid temperament. We encourage you to give our longtimers a chance, whether it's just a Dog for the Day adventure, temporary foster or loving forever home!

Katniss

This little velvet nugget is a perfect little pocket pup with a heart of gold. Katniss definitely lives up to her namesake with her loving and resilient personality. She wants to say hi to the dogs around her and is friendly with the people she meets.  She could use a little TLC right now to help grow her fur out more, but you can tell by her smile that it doesn’t bother her one bit.  She can play along with you or can find something on her own, like a stick, to keep her occupied. She would make a great family member! Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information on sweet Katniss!

Hector has been working so hard on his training! He's already learned how to sit, stay and roll over. He would do best in a home without any cats or small dogs. He's the perfect blend of active and calm - he'd be a great hiking buddy or binge-watcher. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. Wilkie

Wilkie is 100% best friend material! He is a big, happy boy who melts as soon as you start petting him. This boy may weigh close to 80 pounds, but that doesn't stop him from climbing in your lap. His favorite activities include flopping down flat on a cool floor, wagging his whole body when he sees you, and kisses! He knows his basic commands and would love to learn more. After 7 months in the shelter, this boy can't wait to go home! Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information on Wilkie!

Bone

This handsome man is a two year old tabby with the most adorable, squeaky meow. He is a long time foster that was returned to us. The foster moved and chose not to adopt him. It was very upsetting for Bone. He was originally placed in foster care  because the shelter was especially stressful to him.  The other cats are overwhelming for him.  He will need to be the only the pet and in a home with older children. We are hoping to find a home that will make him feel safe and loved so he can a happy forever home. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. Money

Money is a dapper dude who loves hanging out on patios or going through strolls on the BeltLine. This precious pup does well with children, but would prefer a home without any small dogs or cats. He promises to shower you with big, slobbery kisses and lots of bear hugs! Email This email address is being protected from spambots. Grayson

If a playmate is what you are looking for, Grayson is your guy! This boy has been waiting at the shelter for 10 months and is ready to finally find his forever! This fluffy goof would love to play fetch all day but is just as happy to curl up next to you as soon as you sit down. Grayson already knows how to sit, but is eager to learn more tricks. Grayson is good with other dogs, so he may do well in a home with other canine companions. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. Fairy Godmother is very sweet and purrs for any attention. She has a very quiet meow that is so cute. She would like to be brushed every once in a while as it is hard for her to groom her back. She is very loving and has beautiful blue eyes. Here only wish is to find a home that will love her forever! Fairy has a deeply intuitive spirit and is drawn to others with a chill soul and quiet energy. Email This email address is being protected from spambots.
