LifeLine Animal Project isn’t your average animal welfare organization. We take a holistic approach to improving the standard of care for animals in Atlanta through management of the county shelters, adoption programs, spay and neuter clinics and community outreach efforts.
Since taking over management of DeKalb County Animal Services and Fulton County Animal Services in 2013, thousands of lives have been saved and adoptions have been increased by 150%!
Over 15,000 homeless animals (that's more than 40 a day!) enter our shelters each year. Our goal is that all healthy and treatable pets leave our shelters alive and find loving homes. It is a huge, continual effort to find homes for thousands of pets. How do we do it? Read more about how we’re transforming Atlanta into a no-kill community here.
Richie came to us after a severe head trauma. Because of this injury, it causes him to walk or run in circles and can also cause him to have seizures. Did you know that community cats (or feral cats) are an intergal part of humane animal welfare? affective community cat programs include a TNR (trap-neuter-return) program, which aims to trap the cat(s), spay/neuter them and then return them to the same location. Such programs provide life-saving options for cats who might otherwise be euthanized. Additionally, overtime they reduce the population of community cat colonies. Below are some frequently asked questions + how you can help Atlanta become a lifesaving community!
